Board certified plastic surgeon, C. Bob Basu, MD, MPH, FACS, is the founder and managing partner of Basu Center for Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery – a thriving plastic surgery practice based in the Houston metropolitan area. As an innovator, Dr. Basu created Houston’s first “virtual group” private practice model which employs technology to improve supply chain management over multiple providers, in multiple locations, including two AAAASF accredited surgical centers – a new paradigm in practice management in plastic surgery. His private practice, currently comprised of 90% cosmetic surgery and 10% breast cancer reconstruction/microsurgery, has achieved performance at the top 1% compared to national benchmarks in plastic surgery as per Allergan Practice Consultants. Given his extensive experience in cosmetic breast surgery, Dr. Basu has established one of the few Allergan Black Diamond private practices in the region. He is also a top ranked plastic surgeon in Houston by Realself.com. He was recognized with the Realself100 award – placing him in the top 2% of cosmetic providers in the nation.

Dr. Basu is a national leader in his field. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Plastic Surgeon (ASPS). He has also served as the Chair of the Patient Safety Committee for the society. Given his expertise in patient safety in cosmetic surgery, he also serves on the Board of Directors of The American Association of Accreditation for Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (AAAASF) – the entity that certifies the safety and quality of cosmetic surgery centers. As a recognized expert in practice management, he is also a member of the Board of Directors of Plastic Surgery Practice Solutions – the private subsidiary of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Locally, Dr. Basu serves as the Chief of Plastic Surgery and a partner in one of the nation’s most successful 100% physician-owned acute-care hospitals/health systems, North Cypress Medical Center.
