I cannot even imagine going through such a frightening and uncertain time without all the excellent physicians, nurses, and other medical staff I came into contact during that time.”
After six months of chemotherapy and two months of radiation treatment, Tina was cancer free. But she’d gained a lesson for her life’s work.

Phong Dang, PA, is originally from Vietnam and moved to the United States at the age of 20 to pursue higher education. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Health Sciences prior to graduating from Oklahoma City University’s PA program in 2020.

“I’m interested in endocrinology because I want to understand the pathophysiology of the human body. Diabetes is one of my favorite subjects because you cannot treat every patient the same way. You need to accommodate their lifestyle and habits to develop the best treatment plan for each patient. This reminds me of myself when I came to the United States many years ago. I had to adapt to a new lifestyle and try to overcome the hardship. My goal is to help my patients understand their disease states to better manage their symptoms. I really enjoy spending time with patients, educating them on their conditions, and explaining to them how their disease process works. I want patients to become more confident in allowing me to help treat their diseases.”
“In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Amy, two children, Vicky (1) and Kenny (11), and dog, Kiki. I also enjoy fishing and playing basketball with my brother!”
