Dr. Heather Lopez, ND, is a naturopathic doctor dedicated to holistic healing that addresses the root causes of illness while empowering the body’s innate ability to restore balance and vitality. At Joy Wellness Partners in Provo, Utah—a premier center for regenerative and integrative medicine focused on personalized, non-invasive treatments for longevity, pain management, and total wellness—she brings a compassionate, whole-person approach to care. A graduate of Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington, Dr. Lopez is trained in women’s health, diabetes and cardiovascular wellness, community medicine, and functional and integrative therapies. Her clinical philosophy centers on guiding rather than directing—partnering with patients on their journey toward optimal health, in alignment with Joy Wellness Partners’ mission to support natural healing, prevention, and full-body transformation.
With a specialty in holistic, whole-body wellness, Dr. Lopez integrates traditional healing practices, modern evidence-based medicine, and cutting-edge therapies. She is certified in hydrotherapy having trained in Germany and is currently pursuing board certification in Functional Medicine. Her clinical focus includes chronic condition management, hormone therapy, metabolic health and weight loss, immune support, and digestive disorders—services that complement Joy Wellness Partners’ offerings in bio-identical hormones, IV therapies, and regenerative injections. Dr. Lopez completed two years of post-doctoral training in clinical psychology specializing in serious mental health conditions, with a focus on trauma-informed care, including PTSD, domestic violence, and natural disaster recovery. She is also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy, Personality Psychology and Motivational Interviewing, empowering patients to make meaningful, lasting changes. Her research on racial disparities in healthcare has been published in several clinical psychology journals and professional texts, reflecting her deep commitment to equity in medicine.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lopez serves as an adjunct professor at Parker University, where she teaches Functional Nutrition Therapy and integrative medicine courses in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Drawn to Provo by the mission and innovation of Joy Wellness Partners, Dr. Lopez also found a welcoming community where she and her family could thrive. Outside the clinic, she enjoys biking, hiking, camping, and reading the Classics. A passionate student of paleoethnobotany, she spends her free time recreating ancient bread-making techniques—bringing ancestral wisdom into the modern kitchen and infusing her patient care with time-tested natural principles that enhance holistic outcomes for every individual she serves.
