After growing up in Houston Texas, Ms. Zavala moved to San Antonio, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from University of Incarnate Word in 1997. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing in 2011 from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Upon graduation with her Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), she was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society. She is Board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and holds a certification from the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). She brings 27 years of patient care experience in Intensive Care, Emergency Room, Surgical, Radiology, Internal Medicine, Rheumatology, Weight loss, Hormone Replacement Therapy and Primary Care to her practice. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals. Her personal Nurse Practitioner philosophy includes taking a holistic approach to treating her patients to include lifestyle, balance of hormones, management of stress and emotional health, food as medicine and nutraceuticals to help her patients lead a healthy life.
In her spare time Mrs. Zavala spends time traveling, hiking, practicing yoga and Pilates.
