Born in India, Dr. Raja graduated from the Kurnool Medical College in Kurnool, India with a Master of Science in Ear, Nose, and Throat Disease. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of American Surgery. Dr. Raja did his residency in obstetrics at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, Flushing, NY. He has delivered over 6,000 babies, a number unprecedented by any previous physician in the Permian Basin. For the last two years, Dr. Raja has brought cutting-edge technology in both overactive bladder treatment and robotic surgery. He is the Director of the Regional Incontinence Center and Permian Women””s Center.
Some of his honors and awards include: (1993) Berlex National Foundation Award, (1995) Best Resident in Laparoscopic Surgery Award, (1995) CREOG Best Teaching Attending Award, (2001) Best Teaching Award-Texas Tech University, (2007) Excellence in Community Science/Health & Science, (2011) Outstanding Community Physician Award, and (2012) OB/GYN Odessa Heritage Award. He is the Board Chairman of Basin Health Care and belongs to the following: Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, Texas Medical Association, ACOG, American Urogynecologic Society, American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, Texas Medical Association Alliance, and the International College of Surgeons – US section.
