Dr. Maria Milian Sobarzo is a Board Certified Ob/GYN in practice for over 25yrs. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in 1981 and her Medical Degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine in 1985.
She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1989 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and has been in the Katy-West Houston area since 1989.
She practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for over 20 yrs and then felt she should limit her practice to Gynecology, as she realized that this was an important part of women’s health. She is truly a patient’s advocate and wants to do the best for the patients and help them feel their best.
She has extensive experience in multiple women’s issues including contraception, routine examination, menopause, laparoscopy, laparotomy, management of uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, etc. She also performs hysterectomies, both laparoscopically and open laparotomy. She has been certified to perform robotic surgeries for several years and also performs Hysteroscopies, Uterine endometrial ablation and Myosure procedures.
She is also able to perform many in office procedures including colposcopies, biopsies of cervix and vagina/vulva, Endocervical/Endometrial biopsies, cryotherapy, LEEP procedures, IUD insertion and removal, and Nexplanon.
She was born in Cuba and came to United States at the age of 7 and was raised in Sweeny, Texas. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
During her “free” time, she enjoys spending time with her family (her husband, an anesthesiologist) and four boys, jogging, and sings in the choir at her church.
Dr. Patronella is a native Texan where she also completed her education. She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and obtained her medical degree from The University of Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Patronella began practicing in west Houston and Katy, TX in 1996.
She enjoys all aspects of gynecology ranging from adolescent gynecology to menopause. She particularly enjoys gynecologic surgery; Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy procedures as well as da Vinci® Robotic surgery.
Dr. Patronella’s practice will be limited to Gynecology only beginning in April 2016.
Dr. Patronella also performs the MonaLisa Touch procedure in the office to treat several menopausal symptoms.
Dr. Patronella is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners and is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and traveling.
Dr. Arturo Sobarzo is an anesthesiologist specializing in pain medicine and has been caring for our community for more than 30 years. During this time, Dr. Sobarzo has had immense experience and treatment success with various types of nerve pain. His practice now focuses on nerve conditions affecting the hands, feet, limbs and back. Dr. Sobarzo has developed non-surgical, non-invasive treatment protocols designed to safely and effectively relieve nerve pain symptoms and restore function so his patients can enjoy an improved quality of life. His patients no longer rely on medications or failed treatments, instead they experience real solutions for chronic pain. Since 1984, Dr. Arturo Sobarzo has been practicing in the Katy and West Houston area and is now seeing patients in Katy, Texas. Arturo Sobarzo, M.D. obtained his medical degree from the University of Chihuahua, Mexico and completed his anesthesiology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Tx. Dr Sobarzo is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, Texas Gulf Coast Anesthesia Society, Texas Medical Society, Texas Association of Pain Management, Anesthesia Research Society and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia. He served as Chairman of the Anesthesia Department at Memorial Hermann Katy for numerous years. He also served as Chairman of the Anesthesia Department at Southwest General Hospital in San Antonio, Texas for over 8 years and during that time also served as Chairman of the Ethics Committee. During his time off, Dr. Sobarzo enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and actively serving in his church.
