Dr. Joseph Pazona. “Dr. Joe” was born and reared in Suffern, NY where he was an Eagle Scout and an avid baseball player.
As an undergraduate, Dr. Pazona attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, graduating with a B.A. in psychology. He continued his education at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, receiving his medical degree in 2002. He remained at Northwestern, working with some of the top urology surgeons, to complete his urology residency in 2008.
As a resident, Dr. Pazona was honored with the Vincent J. O’Connor Award for excellence in teaching of medical students and residents in both 2005 and 2007.
Dr. Joe began his professional medical practice in the Pacific Northwest in Wenatchee, Washington.
At the Wenatchee Valley Hospital (now Confluence Health), Dr. Pazona helped to build the robotic surgery program and performed the first robotic urologic surgery in central Washington state. Continuing his love for teaching, he became a robotic surgery proctor for urologists in the Northwest region. After eight successful years in clinical practice, Dr. Pazona was recruited to lead the formation of the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) Urology service and build the Robotic Surgical Services program at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Alabama.
Dr. Pazona now lives in Nashville, Tennessee and in 2020 founded his own specialty urology practice named Pazona MD.
His primary clinical interests are minimally invasive surgery and concierge medical care for hormone therapy and other direct care services.
Dr. Pazona is board-certified by the American Board of Urology. In his free time, Dr. Joe enjoys traveling, hiking, running, cooking, and spending time with his three children and fiancé, Catherine.
