I graduated from Lennox High School in 1999-yup “in the 1900s” as the kids tell me. From there, I went on to graduate from Azusa Pacific University with a Degree in Molecular Biology. After spending some time at home with the kiddos, and teaching at a local college, I returned to NCC and completed their Associates of Nursing Degree in 2011. I practiced nursing in California, Iowa and eventually Haiti where our family lived and served for 2.5 years. During that time, I realized that if you could keep mamas healthy and alive, families survived and even THRIVED! Sarah and I decided to go back to midwifery school and graduated from Frontier Nursing University with our Certified Nurse Midwife Degrees in 2015. What a gift it has been to be on this journey together! We cannot wait to come alongside you in your care. It truly is our JOY and privilege.
I graduated from Lennox High School in 2001 and attended Northwestern College in Orange City, IA for a hot second until transferring to South Dakota State University to be with the love of my life. I graduated in 2004 with a major in Journalism. I loved the creativity and freedom the profession had to offer, however, it didn’t take me long to realize it was not my calling. It did not bring me joy and purpose the same way caring for other people did. I returned to SDSU and completed their accelerated nursing program and graduated with my BSN in 2007. I practiced as a RN at Sanford Hospital for 8 years and was a maternal flight nurse for 6 of those years. I graduated from Frontier Nursing University with my Certified Nurse Midwife Degree in 2015 and transitioned into a provider role at Sanford where I worked for the past 6.5 years in a full-scope CNM practice.
Welcome!
I have over 12 years of healthcare practice with experience in ER and ICU, as well as Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine.
I received by BSN degree through South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota and my MSN degree through Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota.
Since previously working in acute and specialty medicine, I have grown such an adoration for health promotion and disease prevention.
I truly believe that making even the smallest changes to your health can have a big effect on your overall wellbeing.
I enjoy partnering with patients to get to the root cause of health concerns and feel lucky to support patients in becoming the best version of themselves.
I hope to see you soon!
