Marilyn Lowe, Certified Nurse Midwife
My nursing career started after graduating from Lincoln General School of Nursing in 1974. My first job was at the VA hospital in Lincoln. What I quickly learned was that med-surg was not my interest, but OB was. I went on to get a BSN from Union College in 1978 and started working in OB after that. I taught at Bryan School of Nursing labor/delivery, postpartum/newborn until 1984. I finished my MSN at UNMC and we moved to Omaha. I started teaching at Creighton School of Nursing in OB in 1984. In 1986 I was given an opportunity to become a Clinical Nurse Specialist in OB at Methodist Hospital. I continued in that job role until 1994 when Methodist Hospital sent me to school to become a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
I have been a nurse-midwife since 1996. I worked at Physicians Clinic Women’s Center since 1997 until this new venture. Over the years having worked labor/delivery, postpartum/newborn, and in a teaching role, I have felt I was only seeing a woman and her family in a limited capacity. What I love most about the role of CNM is that it combines all these areas. I now can see a woman for GYN care, go on to deliver her baby, and see her for her postpartum visits. I can have a greater impact on her and her family’s health care by the relationships that develop over time. I love teaching, and every day that’s a major portion of what I do: teach women about their health.
I have been married for 42 years to my husband Mitchell, I have two daughters and son-in-laws, and four grandchildren. I love to travel and read. I am very lucky to have one of the bests jobs there is, caring for women and their families.

During her residency, she completed a teaching fellowship at Michigan State University.
Dr. Hedrick’s special interests are management of abnormal uterine bleeding, minimally invasive surgery, DaVinci robotic surgery, in-office procedures, sexual dysfunction, chronic pelvic pain, and general obstetrics.
Dr. Hedrick belongs to the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Nebraska Medical Association, and the Metro Omaha Medical Society. She is involved with resident education as an Associate Clinical Professor at Creighton University. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Hedrick is married and has two children.
First of all I would like to welcome you to Mid-City OB/GYN. I have been privileged to work with an amazing group of doctors and a wonderful staff over a span of almost 20 years! My name is Ann Sjulin and I am a board certified OB/GYN physician. I grew up in Sutherland, Nebraska and completed my undergraduate training at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After graduating from medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, I spent four years in their OB/GYN residency program. I was then blessed to join the medical practice of Mid-City OB/GYN.
I am a fellow in the American College of OB/GYN, a diplomat of the American Board of OB/GYN, a member of the Metropolitan Omaha Medical Society and on staff at both Bergan and Methodist Hospitals. I enjoy all aspects of our field, especially robotic surgery, and of course the unique opportunity to be present as new life enters into a family!
I am married to Dr. David Sjulin. Dave grew up in Shenandoah, Iowa and is an ENT physician with BoysTown ENT. We have three daughters who manage to keep our lives very full and exciting. Our oldest daughter attends Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. Our younger daughters both attend Concordia High School here in Omaha. Being an OB/GYN is extremely fulfilling, second only to being a wife and mother.
It is truly a joy getting to know you and being involved in your medical care. I really look at this as a joint effort between you and myself. I value your input and will do my best to educate you on available treatment options and the latest medications and/or surgical procedures that will be of benefit to you.
I am a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist and women’s health specialist.
I attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for undergraduate and the University of Nebraska Medical Center for my Medical Doctorate and Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

I am also on staff at both Bergan and Methodist Hospitals.
As a physician, I have the benefit of helping women while incorporating science, technology and faith.
The relationships that develop through the education and empowerment of women are very rewarding.
It is a privilege to be a part of my patients lives as they experience their first GYN exam, as they become mothers and their families grow, and again as they transition through menopause and beyond.
As medicine is constantly evolving, it is gratifying to provide new options for patients.
In addition to general obstetrics and gynecology, I offer da Vinici Robotic Surgery, minimally invasive surgery and in-office gynecologic procedures.
I value being an integral part in your health care plan and look forward to forming a partnership for your individual needs.
