LoRena Allen is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife with over 30 years of healthcare experience. She is passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care and helping individuals and families achieve their best possible health.
LoRena grew up in Stronghurst, Illinois, and has proudly called the Mount Pleasant area home for the past 24 years. She began her healthcare career as an OB nurse at Henry County Health Center. When the labor and delivery unit closed, she decided to pursue advanced education so she could continue caring for women and families in the community. She earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Chamberlain University and her Certified Nurse Midwife certification from the Shenandoah School of Nursing.
LoRena is excited to be working in Mount Pleasant again and is dedicated to helping patients reach their health goals through collaborative, shared decision-making. She has a special passion for caring for women and children, particularly during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. She also enjoys helping patients optimize their hormonal health and finds it incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact she can make in the lives of those she serves.
Outside of work, LoRena enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, Ryan, and their two children.
