Makayla Blain, CNA

I started in healthcare as a CNA at DeKalb Hospital. In 2015, I graduated with my BSN from the University of Saint Francis. After working as an RN for a year at DeKalb, I sought a more significant challenge which I found in the Surgical-Trauma ICU at PRMC. I worked in the ICU for four years. During my time in the ICU, I realized I wanted to help people on a more personal level and emphasize improving their quality of life. I graduated with my MSN from the University of Saint Francis in 2020 and am excited to begin my role as a nurse practitioner!

Along with my new role in the clinic, I also work as adjunct faculty teaching student nurses in the University of Saint Francis BSN program. When I am not working, I spend my time with my family, work on home improvement projects, or get outside and enjoy nature. Occasionally, I have some time to myself and enjoy curling up with a good book or interesting medical journal.
