Dr. Henderson grew up in Southern California and had every intention of staying there until he realized his passion for dentistry and oral surgery. After being encouraged to attend dental school by his family dentist, he had the opportunity to spend time with oral surgeons, which sparked his interest in the specialty. When he realized that oral surgery allowed him to do many different things, he was inspired to choose it as his career.
As an oral surgeon, Dr. Henderson is able to help many different people change their lives. Whether he’s performing a simple tooth extraction or a cosmetic procedure, he enjoys helping patients feel better. Dr. Henderson takes patient care very seriously. He is always open and honest with patients, and he makes sure to spend the extra time with them that they need to feel comfortable during treatment.
Dr. Henderson completed his Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the University of California, Irvine. After a friend of his from a volunteer dental clinic recommended Loma Linda University, he decided to go there for his dental degree. Though he was originally planning on being finished with school after dental school, when he realized his passion for oral surgery, he found an integrated program at the University of Maryland that allowed him to finish his oral and maxillofacial residency and earn a medical degree at the same time.
After finishing his formal training, Dr. Henderson decided to take the steps required to earn his certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed four rigorous oral exams and an extensive written exam, which tested his familiarity with the oral surgery specialty. By passing these exams, he demonstrated his exemplary knowledge and awareness of various surgical situations. He maintains his board-certified status by continuing his education and staying up to date with the latest techniques, technological advancements, and high standards of care.
Outside of work, Dr. Henderson spends a lot of time with his wife and friends. They enjoy diving and are always looking for new places to explore. In addition, his wife enjoys horseback riding, which inspired them to go on a unique horseback safari.
