About the Physician
Lyn A. Campbell, MD completed his undergraduate education at Dillard University in New Orleans, LA in 1985. He received his medical education at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC In 1989. After completing his internship and specialty training in Emergency Medicine at Howard University Hospital, Dr. Campbell practiced medicine in several well-known hospitals in Washington D.C., including Howard University Hospital and Sibley Memorial Hospital.
Answering a life-long desire to live in a tropical setting, in 2000, Dr. Campbell accepted an opportunity to practice medicine at Gov. Juan Luis Hospital and moved to St. Croix, where he eventually became director of the Emergency Room Department. In 2006, he started a private practice on St. Croix, Acute Alternative Medical Group. Acute Alternative thrived as a traditional medical practice that also offered scientifically-researched alternative therapies. Dr. Campbell expanded Acute Alternative’s services in 2009 when he opened St. Croix’s only certified Sleep Disorder Treatment Center, Acute Alternative Sleep Center. And based on his concerns for his patients’ overall health, Dr. Campbell started a weight management program at Acute Alternative to ensure that his patients were getting the best possible preventive Care. Dr. Campbell’s mission as a Christian Physician is to establish lasting relationships with his patients while improving their quality of life. His compassion, commitment and respect for his patients and his practice are driving forces behind his goal to provide the best healthcare facility on St. Croix.
Dr. Campbell is the Medical Director at the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Croix. He is also the medical director on St. Croix’s substance abuse department at Charles Harwood Hospital. In addition, Dr. Campbell is co-founder and medical director of Air Med Caribbean, air ambulance service.
