Shannon Crowe, MD, FACOG

Shannon M Crowe, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., is a board certified OB/Gyn and has been practicing in the Sugar Land area since 2000.

She and Dr Blonder co-founded Sweetwater OB/Gyn Associates in 2009.

She grew up in Northern Kentucky and graduated as Valedictorian at Villa Madonna Academy in Villa Hills, KY in 1988.

Dr Crowe attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI on an academic scholarship and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1992.

In college, Dr Crowe was awarded several academic scholarships and was elected to the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society. Her medical school training was at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1996.

She then completed her residency training in OB/Gyn in 2000 at the University of Texas-Houston which is affiliated with Memorial Hermann Hospital and MD Anderson.

During medical school she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society (AOA) and won a student teaching award.

She is a former Chairman of the Department of OB/Gyn at Oak Bend Hospital. In 2008, Dr Crowe was named “Outstanding Female Physician” at Memorial Hermann-Sugar Land Hospital and in 2014, she was voted “Best OB/Gyn in Fort Bend County” by LIVING magazine.

Dr Crowe is trained in all minimally invasive gynecologic procedures including laparoscopy, DaVinci robotic surgery, endometrial ablations and hysteroscopic Essure procedures.

She also practices the full scope of office gynecology including management of abnormal pap smears, adolescent medicine, hormone therapy, birth control, abnormal bleeding , sexual dysfunction, weight loss and aesthetics.

She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of

the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Texas Medical Association.

Dr Crowe lives in Sugar Land with her husband, James Hawryluk.

They have two children: Hannah and Weston.

Outside of work, Dr Crowe enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid runner and triathlete.

She serves on the Board of Directors for “Attack Poverty” and the New Territory Tarpons swim team.

Bryan Blonder, DO

Bryan J Blonder, D.O., F.A.C.O.G., is a board certified OB/Gyn and has been practicing in the Sugar Land area since 2000.

He and Dr Crowe co-founded Sweetwater OB/Gyn Associates in 2009.

He is originally from Brooklyn, New York.

Dr Blonder completed a combined Bachelor of Science/Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York Institute of Technology/New York College of Osteopathic Medicine where he graduated cum laude in 1994.

He then completed his residency training in OB/Gyn at the Stamford Hospital system in Stamford, Connecticut in 1998.

In college, Dr Blonder was awarded the Bausch and Lomb Science Award and was a member of the Nu Epsilon Tau Honor Society.

He also served as a Chief Resident at Stamford Hospital from 1997-1998.

He has served as the President of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, District 6 from 2004-2008.

He is a faculty preceptor for the Texas Health Science Center of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth as well as the Baylor College of Medicine Physician Assistant Program.

Dr Blonder is trained in all minimally invasive gynecologic procedures including laparoscopy, DaVinci robotic surgery, endometrial ablations and hysteroscopic Essure procedures.

Dr Blonder lives in Missouri City with his wife, Denise.

They have three children: Alyssa, Kayleigh and Brayden. In his free time he enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family.

He is actively involved with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and has been a committee member since 2001.

He is the former Chairman of the Health committee and currently acts as Chairman of The Health Committee.

Dr. Blonder specializes in comprehensive gynecology and infertility. His surgical specialties as an OB GYN in Houston include minimally invasive hysterectomy including laparoscopic hysterectomy, female incontinence, bladder and pelvic support procedures, laparoscopy, in-office and outpatient endometrial ablations.

Dr. Blonder lives and works in the Sugar Land area. He is married to Denise and they have 2 daughters and a son. His interests include culinary arts, travel, real estate investing, and spending time with his family. Many of his friends and family consider him to be an amateur chef. Dr. Blonder is also proficient in speaking basic conversational and medical Spanish with his patients.

Lora Setterlund, FNP

Lora is a board certified and licensed nurse practitioner who joined the Sweetwater OB GYN team in 2021.

She is originally from Corpus Christi but has lived in the Houston area for 30 years.

Lora started her career as a Certified Public Account, before deciding that health care was her ultimate calling.

Lora received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Women’s University, Houston, Texas, and worked at Women’s Hospital of Texas as a labor and delivery nurse for 10 years.

She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas, and was board certified in May 2020.

Lora is a proud Mom to one daughter that she spends most of her free time with.

Together they share interests in learning and experiencing new things, traveling, hiking, and spending quality time with family.

Kelli Burroughs, MD

In college, Dr Burroughs was awarded a summer Howard Hughes research fellowship from 1997-1999. In 2005, she received an academic scholarship from Bethesda Presbyterian Church. In residency she was awarded two Excellence in Teaching Recognitions. In private practice, Dr Burroughs is currently Chief of Staff and OBGYN Chair at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land hospital.

Dr Burroughs was named Outstanding Female Physician at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land hospital in 2012 and in 2011, she was named Most Respectful Physician at the same hospital. June 2015 Dr. Burroughs was presented with Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital’s Clinical Excellence Award.
Dr Burroughs is trained in all minimally invasive gynecologic procedures including laparoscopy, DaVinci robotic surgery, endometrial ablations and hysteroscopic Essure procedures. She also practices the full scope of obstetrics and office gynecology including management of abnormal pap smears, adolescent medicine, diabetes in pregnancy, birth control and abnormal bleeding.

Dr Burroughs lives in Sugar Land with her husband, Anthony Broussard and their son Ellison. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling, cooking and exercise. She is a member of the Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church.

Bailey Quinn, FNP-C

Bailey is a board certified and licensed family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) who joined the Sweetwater OBGYN team in January 2023. She is originally from Southern California but has lived in Texas for over 8 years.

Bailey graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA from the Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2017. During her undergraduate studies, she was awarded an Academic Excellence Scholarship. After graduation, she worked as a Certified Critical Care nurse for 5 years in a variety of ICU settings. She then graduated Summa Cum Lauda with a 4.0 GPA from the Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston with a Master of Science in Nursing in 2022. She is currently a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as well as the Houston Area Nurse Practitioners (HANP) organization. Her clinical interests include preventative health, adolescent/young adult education, and contraception/family planning.

Manahil "Mani" Ghaffar, NP

Mani is a board certified and licensed Nurse Practitioner who recently joined the Sweetwater OBGYN and Sugar Land Hormones and Wellness team. She was raised in Sugar Land, and is thrilled to provide services to care for patients within her community.

Mani received her Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from The University of Texas at Houston. With over 8 years of experience, she specialized in Aesthetic Medicine to follow her passion to become an Aesthetic Injector. Mani believes she is incredibly blessed to do what she loves most, and finds it absolutely rewarding to help others feel beautiful. She offers a range of cosmetic services, which includes: Fillers, Sculptra, Volume Restoration and Facial Contouring, Neuromodulators, Kybella, Custom and Laser Facials, among much more!

Alexis Edmunds, NP

Alexis is a licensed and board-certified nurse practitioner, raised here in Sugar Land, who recently joined Sweetwater OB GYN Associates in 2023.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science from Texas A&M prior to obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors from the University of Houston. After six years as a registered nurse in the Texas Medical Center, she achieved a Master of Science in Nursing with honors from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She became board certified in January 2021.

Alexis possesses a deep-rooted passion for promoting wellness and ensuring people feel their best, both inside and out.

Alexis currently resides in Sugar Land with her husband, son, and dog. In her free time, Alexis enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, working out, and exploring new places.

Amanda Lopez, NP

Amanda is a board-certified and licensed family nurse practitioner who joined Sweetwater OB Gyn Associates in March of 2024. She is a Sugar Land native and currently lives in The Heights, Houston.

Amanda obtained dual bachelor’s degrees in health and nursing with honors from Texas A&M University in 2014. She then worked as a postpartum and neonatal intensive care nurse for Memorial Hermann Health System while simultaneously attending The University of Texas Health Science Center for her master’s degree. She graduated summa cum laude with her Master of Science in Nursing in December of 2020 and became board certified in February of 2021. Amanda has a passion for women’s health,and enjoys working with her patients on personalized and complete wellness from the inside out.

Amanda met her husband while attending Texas A&M, and they married in 2021. She had her first son in December of 2023 and spends as much time as possible with the two of them and her golden retriever, Winston. She has a cardinal rule to always have a trip planned and will often book her next vacation on the flight home from the current one. She also enjoys any type of exercise, from Pilates to strength training.
