Dr. Mistry is a Texas native. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where he also completed his residency in Adult and Pediatric Urology. Dr. Mistry played a critical role in the development of the DaVinci™ Robotic Prostatectomy program at Baylor. In addition to prostate cancer, Dr. Mistry specializes in the treatment of male infertility and managing the impact of low testosterone on men’s health.
Leanora Brown Marrow, APRN, CNS-BC
Leanora Brown Marrow, APRN, CNS-BC, is an Austinite, born and raised. She is certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health and has been with our practice since 2010, when she began her final clinical rotation with Dr. Mistry and transitioned to a full-time provider upon her graduation.
Leanora graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005 with dual bachelor’s degrees in biological sciences with concentrations in Marine and Freshwater Sciences as well as Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior. She then returned to the University of Texas in 2008 when she began the Alternate Entry Program for a master’s degree in nursing. Leanora received her Registered Nurse license in 2009 and completed her Masters of Nursing in 2011. She is experienced in general urology, hormone management, and sexual health for men and women.
In her spare time, Leanora enjoys spending time with her husband, Spencer, and their two children, Ella and Will.
Dr. Stacy Ong MD
Dr. Stacy Ong, a native Texan, grew up in Houston and has been a urologist in Austin for more than 20 years. She went to Texas A&M for undergraduate studies and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Prior to joining our practice in 2013, she served as the Head of Urology Trauma Services at University Medical Center Brackenridge where she cared for advanced forms of many urologic conditions.
Dr. Ong completed her urology residency in Adult and Pediatric Urology in Atlanta at Emory University. Her areas of interest include female sexual dysfunction, kidney stones, overactive bladder, prostate problems, low testosterone, urologic cancers, urologic trauma and general urology. She is board-certified by the American Urology Board.
Dr. Ong enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and scuba diving. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Richard, and their dogs.
Christopher Yang, MD
Dr. Chris Yang is a recovering tech geek turned physician. Dr. Yang was born and raised in the Houston area. He attended the University of Chicago, graduating with honors with degrees in Computer Science and Biological Sciences. He worked for two years in healthcare software at Epic Systems Corporation, writing and implementing electronic medical record software for large hospital systems.
Dr. Yang decided that he wanted to work directly with patients and obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He completed his urology residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
He then underwent specialty training in a Sexual Medicine fellowship at the University of South Florida, where he also served as a Clinical Instructor.
Dr. Yang has presented his research at local, national, and international conferences. He has multiple articles published in peer-reviewed journals and serves as a reviewer for several journals. He has co-authored book chapters on sexual and orgasmic dysfunction and is a past editor of the Men’s Health section of the journal Current Urology Reports.
Dr. Yang joined Urology Specialists of Austin in 2015. He sees patients with all urological diseases and has a special interest in the medical and surgical treatment of erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, and low testosterone. He is board-certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Yang enjoys hiking and spending time with his dog, Ollie.
Dustin Fontenot, PA-C
Dustin Fontenot, PA-C, has lived in the Austin area for the last 20+ years, although he’s originally from Southern Louisiana.
He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2004 with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science. During his time in College Station, he also attended Blinn Junior College and obtained his paramedic certification. He served in multiple capacities for the Texas A&M University EMS system and ultimately served as Chief of the department prior to his graduation.
In 2005, in an interest to further his career in medicine, he began the Physician Assistant Graduate Program at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He graduated in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies and a master’s degree in medical science.
Upon graduation, he moved back to Austin and gained experience in several disciplines, including neurosurgery, orthopedic spine surgery and urgent care. He has spent the last several years specializing in men’s health.
Dustin’s areas of interest include hormone optimization, erectile dysfunction, orgasmic disorders, and the promotion of preventative health care and overall wellness. Dustin provides shockwave and PRP for erectile dysfunction.
Dustin is the Director of Armor Men’s Health at Urology Specialists of Austin.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Katie, children Jack and Zoey and cat, Arie.
Jason Ramsdell, PA-C
Jason Ramsdell, PA-C, graduated from the University of Nebraska Physician Assistant Program in 1996.
Jason attended while serving with the U.S. Air Force.
He went on to earn his master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 1997 and completed fellowships in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He served at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, as well as other stations, as a primary care provider for active duty, reserve, and retired military personnel.
Jason has been a Physician Assistant in the urology field since leaving the U. S. Coast Guard in 2011.
He is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
He is a proud member of Disabled American Veterans.
Jason is trained in all aspects of our practice including kidney stones, hormone management, BPH and bladder dysfunction.
Jason is married and lives in Cedar Creek, Texas.
He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and operates a small goat ranch.
Shannon Bernbaum, PA-C
Shannon Bernbaum, PA-C, is a certified Physician Assistant specializing in sexual health and wellness at Urology Specialists of Austin. Since 2018, she has focused her practice on hormone replacement therapy, female sexual dysfunction, and advanced therapies for overactive bladder and urge incontinence, including bladder Botox and sacral neuromodulation. Shannon is passionate about helping patients overcome sensitive and often anxiety-provoking health concerns to improve their overall quality of life.
Originally from Austin, Shannon earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. She went on to receive her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, graduating with honors.
Shannon is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. She takes a comprehensive approach to treatment, integrating traditional medical therapies with lifestyle modifications—such as nutrition, movement, and sleep optimization—to support long-term wellness.
Outside of the clinic, Shannon enjoys yoga, dance, and attending improv and stand-up comedy shows. A lifelong Austinite, she loves spending time outdoors and walking the trail around Lady Bird Lake.
Stephen Macenas, PA-C
Stephen Macenas, PA-C, grew up in Naperville, Illinois. Stephen attended Purdue University as a Chick Evans Scholar recipient studying biology. He graduated and worked in Chicago as an EMT before attending University of Dubuque in Iowa for his Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. Stephen started as a PA-C in the South Loop of Chicago for two years. During this time, Stephen precepted students for Yale, Midwestern and Rosalind Franklin and Rush.
With his gained experience, Stephen then began work as a travel medicine Provider to help underserved populations in rural California and Washington in family medicine, urgent care and emergency medicine.
Outside of managing urological conditions, his interests extend to the integration of AI in healthcare, preventive medicine, and nutrition, with aspirations for clinical research in alternative therapies. He provides oversight for our wellness and weight loss program and nutraceutical therapies.
Stephen operates a sticker company, runs a real estate club, loves rock-climbing, and can be found doing DIY projects for the house or back packing with his border collie, Nox.
Jacob Hinojosa, PA-C
Jacob Hinojosa, PA-C, is a native of Texas, born and raised in San Antonio, and a lifelong Texas Longhorn fan. Jacob moved to Austin in 2010 to earn his Bachelor’s degree from UT where he majored in Kinesiology and minored in Biology. He remained within the University of Texas system and obtained his medical training and education at UT Health in San Antonio obtaining prior work experience in Orthopedic Spine Surgery and Primary Care. Jacob brings to Urology Specialists of Austin a natural interest in men’s health, general urology, and the demonstrated belief that primary prevention is key to living and maintaining a high quality of life. In his free time, Jacob enjoys all things active and outside including weight training, running, cycling, hiking the greenbelt with his dog, Billie, and attending Longhorn games.
Julie Craig, FNP-BC
Julie Craig, FNP-BC, is a distinguished medical professional originating from Michigan. After completing her Bachelor’s in Health Science in 2006 from Saginaw Valley State University, she pursued a Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2008.
Her early career saw her serve in Ohio, Texas, and Tennessee, where she cultivated her skills in orthopedics, neurological impairments, and hand therapy.
Recognizing the needs of vulnerable communities in Nashville, Julie decided to transition to nursing.
She accomplished her Masters in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2014, earning the accolade of Outstanding Student in the Family Nurse Practitioner Specialty.
Relocating to Savannah, GA due to her Army spouse commitments, she began her nursing career with a holistic pediatrician.
She then spent two years at a Level 1 Trauma Center as an essential member of the trauma team.
In Northern Virginia, Julie furthered her understanding of Functional Medicine while serving in an Urgent Care facility.
In 2022, she brought her expertise and passion for patient care to Urology Specialists of Austin. A strong advocate for healthy living and nutrition, Julie believes in maintaining a balanced lifestyle for optimal well-being.
Beyond her clinical work, she’s committed to volunteering, enjoys volleyball, and is an avid hiker.
She resides in Georgetown with her daughters, Peyton and Darcy.
