He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Lamar University and later received his Master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He has spent all 17 years of his nursing career working in the emergency room setting in a variety of capacities.

Jeffrey Thompson, MD brings with him 10+ years of Emergency Medicine experience. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency in 2004 at Summa Health System, in Akron, OH. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas, Health Science Center of Houston and his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Genetics from Texas A&M University. Dr. Thompson is a current member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Emergency Medicine Residents Association, the Texas College of Emergency Physicians, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Thompson is a partner and is the Medical Director for BestMed Urgent Care

E. Fletcher Shoemaker, NP

Fletcher Shoemaker, FNP graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2000.

The majority of his nursing experience includes the emergency room and flight nurse.

In 2014, Fletcher graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center where he earned his Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Family Practice.

He is a partner with BestMed Urgent Care in Lumberton, TX, where he works as a family nurse practitioner.
