John Bertrand, MD

Dr. John D. Bertrand has been practicing obstetrics and gynecology providing the best in women’s healthcare for more than 30 years. He has consistently been chosen by his peers as a D Magazine Best Doctor and Texas Monthly Super Doctor for each year the honors have been awarded. He has personally chaired more than a thousand scientific courses, lectures, proctorships and externships.
Dr. Bertrand has had the privilege of teaching many physicians the techniques of hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery, and procedures to correct pelvic organ prolapse (urogynecology). He serves as the director of the Advanced Gynecologic Surgical Fellowship at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. He holds staff appointments at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas and Parkland Memorial Hospital and UT Southwestern where he serves as a clinical professor.
A native of Waco, Texas, Dr. Bertrand and his wife Andrea, a Registered Nurse, are parents to 13 children: nine daughters and four sons. Dr. Bertrand enjoys spending time with his eleven grandchildren, watching football, cycling, skiing, and long walks on White Rock Lake with his family and dogs.

Jane Nokleberg, MD

Dr. Jane Nokleberg is a native of Tacoma, Washington, but her residency at Parkland Hospital brought her to Dallas, where she has been working in women’s health for over

two decades. Dr. Nokleberg enjoys the unique practice of women’s health. As a woman and a mother, Dr. Nokleberg relates on a personal level with the needs of her patients. Dr. Nokleberg received her BA in biology from the University of Southern California, an MS in Applied Physiology and an MD from the Chicago Medical School. At the Chicago Medical School, she completed an honors program in pathology. She completed her residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital where she served as Chief Resident from 1998-1999.
Dr. Nokleberg is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly. Dr. Nokleberg has been selected among the Best Doctors in Dallas by D Magazine for multiple years.
Dr. Nokleberg is married to Dr. Lawrence Hum, an emergency medicine physician. Together they have two children, Jacob and Madeleine. Dr. Nokleberg enjoys spending time with her family, running with her husband, golf, skiing with her children and traveling.

Ashley Hancock, FNP

Ashley is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Texas Womans University. Her background includes ten years of experience as a labor and delivery nurse and a neonatal intensive care nurse at Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Childrens Medical Center Dallas.
Ashley joined Walnut Hill OB/GYN Associates as a nurse practitioner in 2021 where she provides her patients with sensitive, individualized care through health promotion, education, and counseling.

Jeffery Thurston, MD

Dr. Jeffrey M. Thurston has been caring for women in North Texas since 1986. Dr.Thurston was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and raised in Chappaqua, NY; Houston, TX; and Tulsa, OK. He attended Rice University where he received a BA in biology, graduating cum laude to go on to Baylor College of Medicine where he graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Thurston completed his residency at University of California at San Francisco where he served as the administrative chief resident from 1985-86. Active in the practice of obstetrics, gynecology, and infertility, Dr. Thurston feels blessed to have touched the lives of so many families over the years.
