Dr. Olubukola Okoro, MD

Dr. Olubukola Okoro is a board-certified internal medicine, lifestyle medicine, and obesity medicine specialist with more than 12 years of experience as a primary care physician. In addition to her extensive clinical background, she has been a board-certified weight loss physician for four years and actively completes advanced continuing education courses. She currently holds medical licenses in 14 states.
At RescueMD, based in Allen, Texas, Dr. Okoro provides compassionate, patient-centered care with a focus on forming genuine, long-term relationships with every patient she serves.
Education & Training
Dr. Okoro earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Metropolitan State University before beginning her career in healthcare as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). She later became a registered nurse (RN), gaining hands-on clinical experience that continues to shape her approach to patient care.
She went on to attend Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Okoro then completed her three-year internal medicine residency at St. John’s Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to working at RescueMD, she spent 5 years working at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.
