Robert Blakeburn, MD

Dr. BlakeBurn completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma in 1984. He then graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1987. In 1990, he completed a Family Practice Residency while on active duty at Carswell Air Force Base in FT. Worth, TX. Upon completion of his residency and serving as Chief Resident, he achieved board certification in Family Medicine. From 1990 to 1993 Dr. Blakeburn was an active-duty physician at Vance Air Force base in Enid, OK and was an ER physician at Bass Baptist Hospital.
He received the Meritorious Service Medal and attained the rank of Major. In 1993 he opened his private practice in Enid where he was president and one of the founders of the Enid Clinic. In 2001 he moved to Clinton to become the first full time ER physician at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital and to be the Medical Director of the Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Unit. He was chosen by the Oklahoma Foundation of Medical Quality to be one of six physicians in the state to be Champions of Quality. In 2007 Dr. Blakeburn returned to his roots and first love and again established a private practice specializing in family and holistic medicine. He continues to be the director of the Alliance Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, is the past ER Director, past Department of Medicine chairman, and was again Chief of Staff of the Alliance Health Clinton Regional Hospital.

Dr. Blakeburn is married to the former Kristin King of Clinton. Together they are very proud of their triplet boys, Christopher, Jason, and Matthew, and their daughter, Chelsea.

Dr. Blakeburn actively supports his community. He was the Scoutmaster of local Boy Scout Troop 361 and is an Eagle Scout. He is an ardent supporter and participant in the Western Oklahoma Ballet Theatre and Southwest Playhouse. For 6 years he was the Lay Leader at the First United Methodist Church and has been known to fill the pulpit on occasion. He is a board member and participating physician in the Clinton Free Medical Clinic. He is a long time board member and current chairman of Vine Life Ministries in Oklahoma City.

For 27+ years Dr. Blakeburn has been practicing Primary Care Family Medicine in Western Oklahoma while establishing a reputation as one of the top Family Medicine Specialists in the area.

His areas of interest and expertise include all facets of adult and pediatric medicine including wellness, heart disease, hypertension, cholesterol management, allergies, and diabetes. As many of his patients are aware, he is proficient in Integrative Medicine and has incorporated this into his everyday practice. Dr. Blakeburn has incorporated cosmetic treatments (i.e. Botox, pulse light therapy) into the practice as well as weight loss, diabetic education, allergy and immunotherapy, and anti-aging medicine. Dr. Blakeburn is dedicated to caring for the whole person and building relationships with his patients.

Angela Pope-Bailey, NP

Angela Pope-Bailey is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner currently practicing at The Blakeburn Clinic. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and later earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Oklahoma. She holds a national board certification with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is also a member of the Association of Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners. Angela is passionate about family practice and improving the health and wellbeing of her patients, especially through patient education. She is currently a resident of Hydro, and enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 adult children as well as her granddaughter. When she is not improving the health of her patients, she spends her free time working on her garden, cooking, and trying new projects as well being an active member of her church.

Ashley Morris, APRN-CNP

Ashley Morris APRN-CNP joins the Blakeburn Clinic on February 1, 2018. Morris is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She also is a member of the Association of Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners (AONP). She received her Associate RN in 2008 from Western Oklahoma State College (WOSC) and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Oklahoma City University in 2009. In 2012 she received her Master’s as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati. Angela Bailey APRN-CNP, of the Blakeburn Clinic, helped to train Ms. Morris.

Prior to her additional education, Ashley worked locally in the Clinton Hospital as an RN for 4+ years in the Medical Surgical unit, ER, ICU, and Surgery.

Before joining the staff of the Blakeburn Clinic, Morris worked in Thomas, Oklahoma, for five years practicing clinic medicine. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Morris is able to care for patients of all ages from newborns to the elderly.

Nurse Practitioners (NP) have the full scope of practice in Oklahoma. They can examine patients, prescribe medications, diagnose illnesses, and provide treatment. In the Blakeburn Clinic she works together with Dr. Blakeburn to treat patients and focus on wellness, prevention, and managing patients’ overall care. She has a comprehensive family practice and is taking new patients. The clinic accepts all types of insurance and there is no extra fee to schedule appointments with the nurse practitioners.

Morris likes taking care of families and their everyday needs. She particularly loves getting to see patients of all ages. Ashley says “I love getting to know people and helping them achieve healthy goals.” Morris is married to her husband of 11 years, Thomas. Together they have three children, Talea 17, David 3, and Hazel 4 months. Most of her spare time is spent with her family and she enjoys attending OU games. The Blakeburn Clinic is ecstatic to welcome Morris as a part of our full-service health care team.
