He is married to his beautiful wife, Sarah, who founded a Christian nonprofit organization to stop human trafficking called True Justice International. They have three wonderful children together. He has traveled extensively including medical mission trips to Greece, India, and Africa and he enjoys learning about new cultures. Sara Burrington, NP

Sara became a nurse practitioner in 2023, shortly after moving to North Carolina with her husband and three year old twins, from Northern California. She had become a nurse in 2014, graduating magna cum laude as the president of the school’s student nurse association from National University. After working mostly in the ER, ICU and perioperative environments, Sara wanted to expand her knowledge base and scope of practice and decided to become a family nurse practitioner, graduating summa cum laude from Sonoma State University.

As the daughter of a watercolor artist and civil engineer, Sara was raised in a small town in Northern Vermont, where she grew to love all kinds of home improvement projects and artsy renovations. In her downtime you can find her daydreaming about DIY projects (some of which she probably has no business attempting) enjoying a glass of wine and listening to blues while cooking some giant pot of goodness that fills the dimly lit kitchen. Sara is so excited to have found her current role as a BioTe certified provider working at Aegean Medical, and helping patients to optimize their hormonal balance and feel able to take advantage of all that life has to offer.

Leah Trombley, WHNP-BC

Leah is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC) who has served Craven County and the surrounding areas, providing care for women and their families. She has contributed to the community through farmworker health programs, public health, private practice, and military health care.

As a nurse practitioner, Leah embraces an integrative and holistic approach to care and values partnering with clients to support their health and wellness goals. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business from Mount Olive College, she traveled to Mexico on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship for immersive Spanish-language training to better serve Spanish-speaking patients. She later earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY, and received an additional Rotary scholarship to study Spanish in Nicaragua.

Leah and her husband, Buzz, are United States Marine Corps veterans and have called New Bern home since moving there with their five children in 2002. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, swimming, practicing yoga, and traveling. Her love of travel has deepened her appreciation for diverse cultures and has enriched her ability to understand and share health beliefs and practices, enhancing her integrative approach to care.

Leah is grateful for the opportunity to work with Dr. Angelo Tellis and the team at Aegean Med Spa to provide hormone balancing for optimal health and well-being.
