Dr. Sangmuah is a veteran physician with special interests in diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension. Prior to Matthews Internal Medicine, he was a Hospitalist at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC, from 2004 to 2010 and Stanly Memorial Hospital in Albemarle, NC, from 2002 to 2004. He has also been extensively involved in medical research.

Dr. Sangmuah received his Medical Degree at the University of Ghana Medical School. He completed a Residency in Primary Care and Internal Medicine from the Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he also served as the Chief Resident in the Department of Medicine. Additionally, he is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Sangmuah is married and has two children, and also enjoys traveling, reading, and sports.

Dr. Sangmuah received her Medical Degree at the University of Ghana Medical School and completed her Residency in Internal Medicine at the Brookdale Hospital & Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. While in Medical School, she published articles addressing the prevalence of substance abuse in Ghanaian Schools and the impact of intestinal parasites on the nutritional status of children in Mobole.

She has a strong interest in research, preventive care, and women’s health. She is licensed by the State of North Carolina and Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Sangmuah has a strong interest in research, preventive care, chronic diseases, diabetes, hypertension, lipid disease, endocrine, cardiovascular, and women’s health. She is licensed by the State of NC and Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She enjoys traveling, dancing, reading, and cooking.
