Born and raised in Chicago, Therese comes from a family with a rich immigration background. Her father’s parents immigrated from Germany & Therese’s mother immigrated to the United States from Belgium at just age 13. Therese takes immense pride in her parents’ dedication and resilience in building a life in the new world.
Being a first-generation college graduate, Therese’s character has been molded by hard work and unwavering passion for helping others. She discovered her calling to serve and care for others as early as five years old, and this sense of purpose is ingrained in her soul.
With almost 3 decades dedicated to health & patient care, Therese has been a practicing nurse in Albuquerque since 1999. She has spent 25 years at the University of New Mexico, a level one trauma center and teaching hospital, caring for a diverse patient population spanning all age groups and backgrounds. In addition to her tireless service at UNM, Therese has also contributed her expertise to plastic surgery, orthopedics, & legal case revies in the private sector.
Therese’s educational journey includes graduating from the TVI Nursing Program, The University of New Mexico, & The University of Texas in Arlington. Outside of her professional accomplishments, Therese has built a loving family with a husband and 3 amazing children. She enjoys outdoor activities & traveling to new destinations. Surrounded by a strong and supportive network of friends and family that brighten her life.
In her free time, Therese competes in mountain biking with as a member of an energetic team of strong women. Her active outdoor lifestyle enhances her overall well-being and brings joy to her life.
Becoming a nurse practitioner was not just a career choice for Therese; it was a calling to serve and promote optimal health and lifestyles. Her many years of hospital experience fueled her passionate desire to keep people healthy and free from debilitating illnesses, reducing the need for hospitalization while minimizing medication use whenever possible.
Therese believes in the power of personal choice, and she empowers her patients to leverage their strengths to lead happier lives.
