Her journey began with a nursing diploma in India in 1992, igniting a passion that has since driven her through various accolades and achievements.
For over a decade, Dr. Thiruvalluvan served as an RN in acute rehab settings, where her unwavering dedication earned her the esteemed “Nurse Recognition Award” from the New Jersey League for Nursing in 2009. Her pursuit of excellence continued as she obtained her RN-BSN degree from Seton Hall University in the same year, honored with the “Jean-Nappy Award” for Academic Excellence. Building upon her foundation, she earned her MSN degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in 2012, further distinguishing herself with the “Adult Nurse Practitioner Award” for outstanding academic performance.
Driven by a newfound passion for weight management, Dr. Thiruvalluvan obtained a Certificate of Advanced Education from the Obesity Medicine Association in May 2023. Her belief in weight as a primary health concern stems from witnessing transformative physical benefits among her patients. Through personalized preventative care, education, and evidence-based practices, she empowers patients to manage and control comorbidities, achieve weight loss goals, and experience enhanced overall well-being.
