Emily Schultz CRNP, I am an ANCC board certified adult and geriatric nurse practitioner.

I started my nursing career in the early 2000s in the ICU where I saw very ill patients on the brink of life and death.

Then upon becoming a nurse practitioner (NP), I worked in geriatrics, hospice and palliative care.

Again, I saw many people at the end of their lives and often these people were suffering from preventable chronic diseases.

Day after day I was talking to patients and families about how to manage their significant symptoms and comorbidities related to their chronic diseases.

Often in modern medicine we treat people AFTER they become sick or have chronic diseases, but we don’t emphasize preventing these conditions. I then had the opportunity to work on the other end with weight management and was able to see my patients utilize the amazing new medications that are available to treat weight as well as significantly impacting and preventing chronic conditions. I unfortunately saw due to insurance, most people who would greatly benefit from these medications couldn’t access them! Working now at The Facebar has allowed us to offer these amazing lifestyle medications as well as Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) and other wellness modalities to help our patients feel great, live healthier and prevent chronic disease. I feel strongly about lifestyle medicine, wellness and strive to prevent those chronic diseases I saw many patients succumb to at the beginning of my career.
