Galen Slough is a Family Nurse Practitioner and co-owner of Prairie Winds Family Care with his wife Jennifer. In addition to working as a Nurse Practitioner in Emergency Medicine, Galen fulfills the administrative and financial role here at PWFC. Galen and Jennifer have joined their skill set of business management and patient care to bring their vision of quality, patient-centered, accessible health care to Wamego and the surrounding communities.
Along with business management skills, Galen has an extensive resume in the medical field that began while working in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) as a Paramedic, then Captain for Pottawatomie County EMS. He advanced his career by becoming a Registered Nurse then earned his Master’s in Nursing from Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts to be a Family Nurse Practitioner. When not working and helping Jennifer manage their busy household with five children, Galen enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family. Galen is available to see patients as needed by request.

Since 2008 I have been serving the Manhattan and Wamego communities.
I am Family Medicine trained and have cared for patients from birth to death throughout my career as a Nurse Practitioner.
I graduated from Stafford High School in Stafford, Kansas. I have an Undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in Family Studies and Human Services. My background also houses an Undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Missouri Western State University, as well as a Masters of Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner Degree from Fort Hays State University. I am Board Certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
My husband, Galen, and I have four children together and are raising our children in the Rock Creek School District. I am the blessed Step-Mom of my husband’s son who attends Manhattan Catholic School. We are members of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Flush. I look forward to caring for you and your loved ones!
Nurse Practitioner Family Medicine
Jayne Gunn is a board certified family nurse practitioner. Her background includes acute care, urgent care and emergency medicine in rural healthcare settings. Jayne graduated with honors from Washburn University where she earned her Bachelors and Masters in Nursing. She brings a wide array of nursing experience and professional education to diagnose and treat any illness while focusing on prevention, wellness and education. She has over 34 years of clinical experience and has a strong passion for promoting wellness and patient education.
Jayne hails from Clyde, KS where she graduated from Clifton-Clyde High school. She has lived in the Manhattan area since moving there to attend Kansas State University following high school graduation. She and her husband Kevin have 5 children and 10 grandchildren who are the center of their circle in life. Jayne enjoys spending time with family and friends, biking and staying active. On her days off, you will likely find her in her craft room crafting and quilting or in the Gunn shop making signs or building furniture.

Stephanie is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice through Fort Hays State University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health Nutrition from Kansas State University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Bethel College. Stephanie has experience in women’s health, college health, family practice and was a labor and delivery nurse.
Stephanie was raised in Mulvane, Kansas. She met her husband at Kansas State University where they graduated and then moved to Westmoreland, Kansas. They live on their family farm with their three beautiful children. She loves spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, watching sports, and cheering on K-State.
