Jennifer Forkner, MSN, ARNP has lived in Iowa most of her life and received her B.S. in nursing from the University of Iowa. She practiced nursing for 6 years which included the Intensive Care Unit and psychiatric nurse’s aide at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and at Comfort Care where she provided care for the elderly in their homes. She graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 2010. Jennifer is a Nurse Practitioner joining Family Physicians of Cedar Rapids in February 2011 and is credentialed at Mercy Medical Center. Jennifer has a passion for preventative medicine and nutrition which inspired her to start a weight loss program at Family Physicians in 2015 which assists people with improving their health through weight loss while treating and preventing chronic conditions related to obesity. In her spare-time she enjoys fitness, cooking, traveling, watching movies, reading, gardening but mostly spending quality time with her family including her husband and 3 children.
