I am Dr. April DeWhite, a board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist with over 30 years of experience. Throughout my career, I have been committed to educating and informing my patients by providing compassionate and personalized care. I believe that informed patients are best empowered to take an active role in their healthcare.

My special interests include menopause management and abnormal Pap smear treatment. I am dedicated to finding the least invasive approaches for treatment of conditions such as fibroids and endometriosis, reserving surgery as a last resort when possible.

Over the years, I have held various roles, including overseeing the training of OB/GYN residents, publishing colposcopy and other gynecological research, and working as a generalist physician.

I’m born and raised in Chicago and hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, I earned my medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and completed my OB/GYN residency at Cook County Hospital (now Stroger Hospital).

I am passionate about practicing gynecology and look forward to working with patients at the Gynecology Institute of Chicago.
