Oregon State College in 1983 with a degree in psychology. She is a board certified Physician Assistant, graduating with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 1996. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator and Certified Diabetic Foot Care Specialist. Before moving to Georgia, she was practicing in rural clinics in Oklahoma and Mississippi, specializing in Diabetes and wound care.
