Lynsey Mahlum completed her bachelors of nursing degree at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA in 2005. She started her nursing career in the Cardiac Thoracic ICU at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA. After 3 years of ICU experience, she was accepted into the Adult Nurse Practitioner program at University of Colorado Health Science Center in Aurora, CO. During her schooling, she continued to work at St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in the Cardiac ICU. She graduated with Master’s Degree in Adult Nurse Practitioner in 2010. She started her Nurse Practitioner career in Internal Medicine in Aberdeen, WA. After 2 years of experience, she accepted the faculty position at University of Washington School of Medicine as the Inpatient Heart Failure Nurse Practitioner. Her role was caring for heart transplantation, heart failure and LVAD patients. After 2 years of experience, she was recruited to manage the outpatient Heart Failure Clinic in Greeley, CO. She managed one of the largest outpatient clinics in Colorado and became certified in Heart Failure Nursing. She became actively involved in Preventative Cardiovascular Nursing Association and won the Heart Failure Award in 2017. After 4 years of experience, made the decision to be closer to home and transitioned to working for Columbine Health Systems. Her current role is caring for the Geriatric population in post-acute care, long-term care, and assisted living patients.
Lynsey has been married to Chris for 8 years and the mother of Emmerson and Hudson. She enjoys running, yoga, snowboarding, reading, spending time with family and friends.
