Michelle Barhaghi, MD

Dr. Michelle Barhaghi is a local product, born and raised right here in Aurora, CO. She started her educational journey at Mission Viejo Elementary school and graduated from Smoky Hill High School. She then moved across the country to upstate New York to complete her undergraduate education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, graduating Cum Laude with a double major in Biochemistry/Biophysics and Biologyand a minor in Studio Art. She earned her medical degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and completed her residency training at Tulane University in New Orleans. She has practiced internationally in both New Zealand and South Africa before settling in Los Angeles to run her own solo private practice since 2013. She is very excited to return to her hometown and to practice Obstetrics at the same hospital her younger sister, now a Pediatric Neuroradiologist, was born at!

Dr. Barhaghi is double board-certified and a diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Medicine and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She takes pride in an integrative practice approach that incorporates all factors that influence overall health, including lifestyle, environment, and interpersonal relationships when considering treatment options. She strives to include evidence-based interventions that are natural and least invasive whenever possible. Alongside holistic treatment options, Dr. Barhaghi feels that health promotion and prevention are of paramount importance and emphasizes this with every patient encounter.

Dr. Barhaghi focuses on providing cutting-edge minimally invasive surgical techniques when treating common gynecological problems such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and other pelvic disorders. She has a special interest in PCOS, endometriosis, and infertility as well as perimenopausal/menopausal hormone imbalance. Dr. Barhaghi loves the field of Obstetrics and especially enjoys the opportunity to guide a woman through her pregnancy journey. She firmly believes that pregnancy and birth are a normal, healthy process—not a disease – and aims to make each woman’s motherhood journey as pleasant as possible.

Dr. Barhaghi remains an active volunteer with Doctors Without Borders; her most recent assignment was in 2014 at a Vesicovaginal Fistula prevention center in Jahun, Nigeria. When she is not working, Dr. Barhaghi enjoys doing anything that involves a mountain.
