Michael Verdolin, MD has more than 15 years experience treating chronic pain. He completed an internal medicine internship and anesthesiology residency at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and then returned to Bethesda to serve as a pain physician and anesthesiologist, and to serve as an assistant professor of anesthesiology at the Uniformed Services university of the Health Sciences.

Dr. Verdolin served abroad several times during his 15 years of military service, including the Baltics and Arabian Gulf during the war in Iraq. He was honored with the Navy Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. He was accepted for a prestigious fellowship-training program in interventional pain management at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2003 and achieved subspecialty certification in interventional pain management in 2004.

Dr. Verdolin became Chief of Interventional Pain Management at Naval Medical Center, San Diego. During his tenure, he implemented a new spinal cord stimulator implantation program and treated Camp Pendleton Marines returning from deployment.

His current practice is in La Mesa and National City at the practice he founded, Pain Consultants of San Diego. He continues to train fellows from the Naval Medical Center and has faculty positions with the Uniformed Services University and with Scripps Mercy Internal Medicine department. He is actively involved in research to better the lives of pain patients and is furthering the field of regenerative medicine in? San Diego county.
