Dr. Luis A. Fernandez M.D. is a highly skilled Obstetrician & Gynecologist (OB-GYN) specializing in a variety of services aiming to improve and maintain the health of women in Prescott, Prescott Valley, and the surrounding areas. Dr. Fernandez has special interests in bio-identical and natural hormone replacement therapy, minimally-invasive surgical techniques and menopausal medicine; he has a special passion for obstetrics and delivering babies.
Dr. Fernandez is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. He has served on the Boards of multiple organizations and held leadership positions in both medical and community organizations.
Dr. Fernandez is originally from Northern New Jersey and comes from a family of many physicians and surgeons. He attended Duke University, and after graduation earned his medical degree at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. Upon graduation, he completed his specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ.
Dr. Fernandez was a founding member of a group practice in OB-GYN in Morris County, NJ with office locations in Morristown and Denville. After 16 years of private practice, he and his family moved to Prescott in 2009, and he joined Women’s Medical Care. Throughout his many years in practice, he has been passionate about delivering excellent and personalized care to his patients.
Dr. Fernandez resides in Prescott with his wife. His outside interests include golfing, skiing, reading, and cooking.
Desiree is a Family Nurse Practitioner, certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her passion for women’s health inspired her to continue her education and obtain her Master of Science Degree in Nursing at Walden University.
She distinguished herself by graduating at the top of her class and was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Before joining Women’s Medical Care, Desiree began her career 29 years ago focusing on labor and delivery.
Since then, she has also worked in a variety of settings, including correctional facilities, schools, and outpatient gynecology clinics.
Throughout her career, Desiree has had the opportunity to provide care to patients all across the United States as a travel nurse. Travel nursing gave her the opportunity to care for people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, strengthening her ability to provide culturally sensitive care. Desiree is deeply passionate about providing comprehensive women’s health care that is patient-centered.
Desiree’s areas of interest include preventive healthcare, contraceptive counseling and management, hormone replacement therapy, sexually transmitted infections, menstrual concerns, vulvovaginal concerns, and obstetrical care.
Desiree strives to serve the women in her community by empowering them to make healthcare decisions individualized to their needs through shared decision making. Outside of her work at Women’s Medical Care, Desiree enjoys exploring all that the Prescott area has to offer, including hiking and camping. She also loves to travel and spend time with her family, including her dog, Rupert.
“Dr. Cydney A. Siggins M.D.,MSc, is the newest addition to the WMC team. She is excited to offer full spectrum obstetric and gynecologic care to the Women of Prescott and Prescott Valley.
Dr. Siggins is a Phoenix native who competed her undergraduate degree in Human Biology at Stanford University, followed by a masters in Biomedical Research at the University of Pompeau Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. She then completed medical school at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, followed by her medical residency training at St Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.
Dr Siggins has clinical interests in high-risk OB/GYN, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and hormonal health.
She is also particularly passionate about holistic women’s wellness, and strives to provide a safe and compassionate space for all of her patients. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is currently board eligible. Dr. Siggins also offers visits in Spanish.
She and her husband love live music, yoga, hiking with their Australian cattle dog, and traveling in Central America.”
Dr. Kaitlyn Banning, DO, is a dedicated OB/GYN physician who offers full spectrum obstetric and gynecologic care for women in and around Yavapai County. She is originally from Georgia, where she attended the University of Georgia for her undergraduate degree, and continues to cheer on the Dawgs!
She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from PCOM – Georgia, and completed her residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. In residency she excelled as the Academic Chief Resident for two consecutive years.
She has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery in addition to her passion for obstetrics and helping women through all stages of their lives. Her practice philosophy is rooted in providing holistic, detailed, evidence-based care to women, ensuring their health and well-being through all stages of life.
She is passionate about women’s health and committed to staying at the forefront of medical advancements.
Dr. Banning also offers visits in Spanish.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her family, as well as reading, cooking and running. If she’s outside, she’s happy!
Alex is a board-certified women’s and adult health nurse practitioner. She completed her training at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She distinguished herself in nursing academics by earning induction in the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She has been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 2010 and has vast experience in private practice, community, and academic medicine.
Alex strives to provide compassionate, patient-centered care for gynecological and obstetrical patients across the lifespan. She is passionate about working with women to empower them with the knowledge to become an active member of their healthcare journey.
After several years as a clinician, Alex advanced her academic career by obtaining her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Chatham University. Along with educating her patients regularly, Alex continues to educate current and next generation nurses as adjunct faculty to graduate nursing students.
Alex resides in Prescott with her husband, 2 children, and dog. She enjoys spending time with family and friends while exploring all that Prescott has to offer.
