Shinda Starr is an accomplished board-certified family nurse practitioner

with over 22 years of experience in the industry; with a master’s degree in

nursing from Chamberlain University, Shinda graduated magna cum laude

and has since kept a high standard of excellence in her profession. While her

specialty lies in family practice, Shinda has also gained valuable experience

in a primary care practice where she focused on medical weight loss, weight

loss management, disease prevention, and reversal. During this time,

Shinda discovered her passion for helping individuals transform their overall

health, leading to a change in her career path. Recently, Shinda has

transitioned to women’s health, highlighting her versatility and adaptability.

She is dedicated to continuing her mission of helping patients improve their

overall health and has become a certified Biote Provider, assisting patients

with hormone balance and optimization.

Shinda understands the transformative impact that improving one’s health

can have, having experienced it firsthand during her breast cancer journey.

This personal healing journey has fueled her passion for promoting overall

health and wellness. Shinda’s decision to partner with Dr. Brenda J. Hines,

MD, on The Well Unscripted was inspired by her own experience, and she

recognizes the importance of caring for one’s physical, mental, and

emotional well-being. She aims to empower individuals to take control of

their health and make positive changes that will have a lasting impact. With

her expertise and compassionate nature, Shinda strives to create a

welcoming and supportive environment for her patients to transform their

health and live their best lives.

Currently, Shinda is pursuing a certification in functional medicine and is

continuously seeking ways to expand her knowledge in the field. In addition

to her professional endeavors, Shinda is a loving wife and proud mother of

two young men. She has a passion for traveling and immersing herself in

diverse cultures, as well as trying new foods and enjoying brunch with

friends. Her curious nature and thirst for knowledge make her a true

explorer at heart.

Brenda Hines, MD

Dr. Brenda Hines has offered comprehensive

women’s health care for almost thirty years.

Her stellar education from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and residency at Howard University has given her the foundation to develop a

thriving OB/Gyn practice.

Her passion for total mind and body wellness, preventive medicine, weight management and functional medicine led her to the University of Bridgeport where she received her Master of Science in Human Nutrition and graduated Suma Cumulate.

The integration of functional medicine with traditional medicine

allows Dr. Hines along with her partner Shinda Starr, FNP, to develop a wellness center that focuses on total wellness.

Our comprehensive intake form, nutritional physical exam and biochemical analysis allow us to provide individualized healthcare evaluating the root cause

of illness and develop personalized treatment plans to optimize health.

We are pleased to be able to offer this service to adult men and women and adolescents.

Dr. Brenda Hines has been married for 36 years to Dr. Daniel Hines.

They Met in 1984 at the University of Michigan while he was in dental school, and she was enrolled in a post-baccalaureate pre-med program.

They have three wonderful children and two beautiful granddaughters.

Dr. Hines loves spending time with family and friends, reading, exercising, and supporting the children’s ministry at her church.

Dr. Hines and Shinda Starr, FNP have recently become Biote providers offering hormone pellets to optimize your health through bioidentical hormone replacement and nutraceuticals.

Dr. Hines is passionate about studying the intricate biochemical mechanisms of our body and the nutritional supply required to maintain optimal health.
